Just purchased a SMLE  1917 Enfield  Low number 3 digits. Found it had stamped “Martin Adjusted “on a Bsa Heavy Barrel
Cork Bedded.
Shot it at my club and managed to get a 1 1/4” Group with Battle sights at 100yds. 174g Sierra 38.1g n140  PPU case

Excellent! don't touch a thing on it.
Looks like you've got yourself a really fine rifle!
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice!

YES!!!! What Zed said!!! This is a rarity for sure.  If it were mine, I’d be looking for a PH aperture sight.

Will it group like that consistently?

Hi Peter.
Welcome aboard. That is a really fine rifle. I use the same loads as you but couldn't match that grouping.

If you have not done so already DO NOT ALTER THIS RIFLE!  The Lee-Enfield Martin Adjusted SMLE is a rifle built around the best part taken from the Birmingham Small Arms (BSA) production line in the Inter-War years by the Alexander Martin Company as Competition Rifles.  These were produced in VERY limited numbers.
