I was part of the small but determined band that braved 105F/40C to shoot in a match Saturday. Due to the low turn out I won the division I shot in Mordern Military Class A  (AR-15s).  Like the Tortoise I managed to finish the course, I was moving like a tortoise after I got home for quite some timeWink

Yikes, 105 F.  I’d think I’d stroke out in those conditions, especially wearing a shooting coat.

Was it the 80 round course of fire?  200, 300 and 600 yards?  I did that recently, two days, for 1800 point aggregate.  About wore me out.  That was my first AR match.  My scope is mounted to high and could not get it far enough forward for proper eye relief, horribly uncomfortable.

CMP  200 yard course shot at 100 yards on reduced targets (we got a small range)

My win was being more of being able to finish the course rather than to good marksmanship that day.

I only shot one relay as I did have symptoms of heat exhaustion at the end of the first one.  The recorded high Temp was actually 107F / 41C  Confused  Which explains how I spent Sunday Wacko
