Designed and used in WW1 and still in use circa 1932. Some links below will give the general idea. The last link shows a later round with the impact fuse exposed the copper cap could have been from either an early stokes or the later design after WW1.

Always looking for military manuals, Dodge M37 items,books on Berlin Germany, old atlases ( before 1946) , military maps of Scotland. English and Canadian gun parts.
