My NoIMkIII Dispersal rifle re-rebuild

This is my 1942 NoIMkIII ‘B’ marked Dispersal rifle/sporter that I got in 2021. I rebuilt it but honestly didn’t like it so it languished in my safe until last month. We were shooting a BAMM [Bolt Action Military Match] at my cas club so I decided to abbreviate it by removing 5 inches of barrel and stock and use it.  Ran great. Finished the upper handguard on it today. Cut the forestock under the barrel band. The used  handguard I bought was broken under the band so I moved the band back about 1/2 inch. I made the upper part so it would fit under the band. Jbwelded a spring clip on the lower piece that goes around the rear sight like whats on the other short piece. I removed the Rube Goldberg barrel ring and spring thing under the endcap. A shorter barrel is always stiffer than a long barrel. Also had to open up the barrel hole in the endcap. It looks much better with the shorter barrel as the proportions are better between the receiver,rear sight, band and nosecap. Handier too. I also added a windage adjustable rear sight elevator to replace the fixed one. Hope I don’t upset the purists too much. Bubba had already got to it before me. Need to build some more ammo to check the accuracy. I did fire 4 rounds on my backyard steel and rang them all. .

Agree 100% britrifles but it was already in a sad state when I bought it. Afraid Bubba got to it first. I just bubba’ed the bubba. My third rifle rebuild. The other two were sporterized 1903s. Blame it on my retirement. Idle hands and all that.

OK , not to be tony here but technically the "dispersal rifles" were those made by BSA in the early 40s and all were mkIII* rifles - the indian rifles were marked mk 3
