Mystery mark T in a circle

   Hi, in the process of acquiring 3 old lee enfield 303s. One has a stamp on the top of the breech it is a T in a circle. It is a Lithgow made 303. Any info would be appreciated. Thank you.

	Any chance of getting a photo of that stamp? I can't find anything bout a "T" in a circle; but the Irish Free State had two overlapping "F" stamped in a circle. It may look like a "T" if poorly struck! but other than that; I'll have to wait for the more knowledgeable member's to step in. Welcome to the forum.

	Hi Zed, Thanks for the welcome and the info but I have since found out that it is an Australian made Lithgow .303 so probably not an Irish connection. cheers mate.

	Yes I had not thought about it being a Lithgow when I was looking in my books. Try and post a photo or two and you may get a result. It is always interesting to see what's out there and Lee Enfields seem to have a lot of stuff to learn about! someone will know; either here or on Milsurp's.

	Thanks Zed, I will post a photo as soon as I get a chance. Until I started looking I never dreamed there were so many different stamps on Lee Enfields.
