these poor bastards where facing the Japanese this bloke made it back alive and lived a long life .most of these guys that fought in newguinea before the AIF came back from Africa and kicking rommels arse where old blokes and young ones thrust into battle against much superior number and combat ready troops on the kokoda trail.

and in a totally different combat arena , fighting in africa was far different than europe and way farther different than in the pacific
