what little i see tells me its a savage made no4 mkI* , the serial is less clear than my eyes can see but appears to be a 71C which makes it a later made rifle and precludes it being one of the few mkIs , it should be marked on the left reciever below the US PROPERTY marking put there to indicate US made for commonwealth service as lend lease ,
oh , and welcome glad you joined us

Welcome from Phoenix Arizona.
The US PROPERTY stamp and the square S stamp along with the serial number 77C3262 make it a No4Mk1* Savage made rifle from the Chickopee Falls Massachusetts plant in early 1944. The S126 stamp on the barrel band is a wartime code for a UK company, C.E.Welstead who manufactured metal parts for the Enfield. I can make out a Mk1 Singer micrometer rear sight as well. Alot of information can be found just by supplying us here with photos and any stampings you can find. Nice looking rifle...

Welcome to the forum. Nice rifle I can't add much the serial number would put toward the end of the production run say late 1944 as savage made around 900,000 rifles (iirc) all with the US property mark under the accounting fiction that we were "lending" them to the Brits
