I find the "S" stocks much better for me. & I like to shoot with my head far enough back that I can cycle the bolt without dismounting!

My teenager is an artist and she's heard me mention that the next time we are at the Art Supply store I need to get some linseed oil. She handed me a small bottle of Walnut oil and a chunk of burlap. That's one coat so far...

Art stores call it "Stand Oil", walnut is fine though.

That looks great!
I use "Clarified Linseed Oil" from an Art store for the Beech woodwork. It is paler in colour than the usual raw linseed oil. It's basically a better quality version of Boiled Linseed oil.

It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice!

I hand rubbed a "winter coat" of Watco Danish oil on my No1 MkIII* yesterday. I did notice how good of shape the wood was in. The butt stock appears original, but I'm pretty sure the rest is aftermarket. Not an issue with me. The fit and finish of what I think is new stuff is excellent!
