What do I have here?

I bought an Enfield from a guy yesterday. It does not seem to look a lot like the pictures. I don't know how to post photos here, so let me give you a tour, from the rear to the front.

The butt plate is brass (or looks brass).
The wood appears to have been refinished. There are no ribs on the top. there are no markings on the rear stock. The lower front stock as an 'F' stamped in it and in another place, and 'F 49'. There are no other marks on the wood.

The magazine has what looks like an attachment point for a chain on the mounting plate. On one side is an 'S' and on the other side is a '>'.

The receiver has the bolt release button one would expect on a MK1. On the left side of the receiver it says "N-4.MK1". On the strap holding the trigger group it says "m.1944 Englandicon and 19340" At the very top is a stamp that looks like "30" or "50". Part of the 1st character is missing.

The site is the 300/600 style. In the top groove of the bolt is stamped "Y A K". The bolt handle is stamped "19340". The at the end of the bolt, that turns, is stamped with a "2", the side looks like it is stamped with an "8".

It has a lug at the end of the barrel for a bayonet. The barrel looks good and the rifling is in good shape. The owner said he has shot it and it fires fine (no head space issues).

Other than that, I see nothing. The mechanisms all seem to operate smoothly.

So, do I have mish-mash here? I paid $275 for it. Probably more than it's worth, but it looked good.

Thoughts?

Let me be the first to welcome you to the forum.  I, too, am quite new here.  I read much more than I post as I am rather new to the World of Enfields, and my ignorance would show quite rapidly.  I am sure there will be others that will chime in with something useful.

Sounds like a No4 Mk1 manufactured in 1944 by the ROF (Royal Ordnance Factory) Maltby (in Yorkshire England)

The 19340 is the serial number - if (as you indicate) the bolt number matches the number on the Butt Socket ( the trigger group strap as you call it) it should be 'good to go'.

Picture would help confirm it and would enable any observations about other modifications that may have been done to it.

Is there an opening in the buttstock-through the brass plate?
If so, does it contain a brass oiler?
Sounds like you got a good deal, price wise.
Welcome to the nuthouse

Great idea, I'll let my creative juices flow and see what I can come up with as an example.

Sounds good to me.

Most of "us" resemble that remark.
