High all.
My name is Dave.
I am a retired Navy Submariner.
I was an Electronics Tech for 20+ years.
Just traded for my first Enfield the other day.
Although it is a composite stock, it is another WWII rifle added to my collection.
But one that will get used more than the others.

Here is my collection:

My AR Lower Build:

Here is what the upper will look like, but it will have Matte Sand receiver, handrail, and gas block, with twist look blued barrel.

Hi Dave, and welcome!  I drove by Mare Island yesterday, sad to see the empty piers. In the 70's
there were always rows of subs docked there.

Nice......I started out as a QM on submarines.
But for some reason they decided to convert us to ET's after 12 years......What The Heck Were They Thinking?

I was in from 1991-2011 and did tours of 5 submarines.

USS SALT LAKE CITY (SSN-716)

Well my father was the only one in his family to immigrate to the U.S. from Germany becoming a U.S. citizen in 1938.  He had a younger brother who had the full U-Boat experience and survived the war.

I pray for the crews of the  CSS HUNLEY. Of three crews only one person lived to tell about it.

hoadie, you have been on the U505? You sure get all over the place.

I have a VHS tape on the CSS HUNLEY, do you want me to lend it to you hoadie?

I got a VCR!! (just cuz it flashes that annoying 12:00, dont mean it doesn't work! )
I appreciate the offer of the tape, mate.I will decline tho.Best keep itb in your collection. I escorted the remains of the last crew of CSS HUNLEY to Magnolia Cemetary. I was quite honoured to have been invited to be part of that! A few of us were invited to march in the place of the individuals selected to escort the caissons. That placed us right behind the caissons-in front of lead colour party. If you've ever seen the size of that procession..you'd realize what an honour that would be for a few Canucks!!

That was a big event! But we stayed out on Patriot's Point with USS Yorktown.(She needed babysitting )
Quite a place!
That same time there was an international tennis tourney on, as well as the national Harley rondevous, as well as @ LEAST 250,000 for the Hunley! There wasn't a hotel/motel room around for 150 miles!! Was a real bear tryin to get into some of the restaurants, as well!
I went out to Shedds Creek area..had FANTASTIC meals!
