I have just bought a No.4 and would like some information on it if anyone can help.
It is marked on the barrel as Model T4 7.62 NATO, Parker Hale ltd Birmingham England. with a serial No. of 289 and a BNP (Birmingham Nitro Proof).
Any history gleaned from these details would be appreciated

I have one of these rifles. Currently, I am fitting a scope mount to it. The original format with front sight tube is missing and the previous owner drilled and tapped screw holes. Heavy barrel, very heavy rifle over all. Since these photos were taken, I have taken the rifle completely apart and cleaned it. The wood has been stripped and oiled to a fine finish. Next, is choosing another scope to be used with original PH mounts and rings which I already have. I do wish I could find the PH197 front tunnel sight with screws, but that will be very tough to find. I have a TZ 4/47 calibrated for 303 ammunition. I am looking for a 7.62 version or make a trade with somebody. This rifle also came equipped with a PH bi-pod fitted to a steel channel under the fore end. The steel channel piece has several screw holes to adjust where to attach the bi-pod.
