he!!o everyone! I’m new to the forum and I have a pressing question, I have a No.1 Mk.III and the magazine can be removed without even hitting the release, I believe it’s a No.1 Mk.III magazine so it may be a problem with the rifle but not sure, any advice? Thank you

Is there spring pressure when you operate the mag release? Does the release lever fully return after depressing the release?

When you insert the magazine does it "snap" in with an audible "clack"? Can you see the mag catch slowly raise towards the wood then "pop" back when you hear the "Clack"? What happens if you slap the bottom of the magazine with the palm of the hand?

it is definitely an issue , they should lock securely in place - they were NOT made as interchangeable or disposable as so many later were , these were fitted to the rifle and meant to stay with the rifle , there is something wrong with the locking system or the magazine box itself

Most likely the magazine release 'spine' has worn down at the point where the release catch catches the spine. If you need another magazine I have several #1/MK3 mags if you need one. I am in Canada as well.

Best check to ensure it is - in fact - the proper magazine.

Good point I hadn't thought of that!
Look at the locking spine & the bottom of the ribs. No4/No5 on the left, No1 on the right. |
