I'm guessing that a "Scrub Bull" is some kind of wild escapee without owners marks?
Something a bit like the feral hogs are over here perhaps.

I found this elsewhere, it should clarify what our Aussie friends are hunting.Beer

"The scrub bull or wild ox is widely distributed across the top end of Australia. They are wild cattle, they have no brands, no ear tags and no contact with humans except for the yearly cattle muster. they do however have a bad ass temper!"

Hell if We had them over here I would not have to raise one each year for the freezer !!!  that would be sweet though , to go out and shoot your own beef !!!!

Not too tough, back straps make very nice steaks.  Roast shoulder and rump mmm tasty.  Mind you these are wild cattle, born wild and free.  Nothing tastes as good as free steak!  Also these guys get fairly cranky very quickly, they aren't as tough to kill as buff but they still require a bit of respect.  One of the Aboridginal fellas botched his 1st shot on one of his and got charged, shot it at about 2 metres with my 303.  That solved the problem ;-)

Hey .303 good to see a post from Oz, have you had any trouble with that Highland ammo? I put 10 rounds through my MkIII* at a target and 2 of the projectiles split in two and went sideways. They also shot about 20 cm higher than the others in the group, could be scary with a wild pig, buff or scrub bull!! Am trying Remington next, bit more $$ but hopefully more reliable. Cheers

Nope never had a problem with Highland ammo.  Haven't used a lot of it but its always been reliable and consistent.
