he!!o all,
I'm pretty new to the forum, but the reason I'm here is my recent obsession with the No4 Mk2. Anyone else find this particular model rifle the most interesting? I guess my attempt at rationalizing it would be the improved, nicer quality nature while retaining the original mk1 style. I bought a mk1* thinking it'd be just as neat seeing as it's a veteran, but it's not the nice looking beech wood. I was fortunate enough to snag a No4 mk2 that I believe to be a Korea/ Vietnam rifle, but can't confirm. It has a great deal of finish wear, and the area where the barrel contacts the bedding has worn the barrel finish down a bit, making me think it was carried, a lot. It also has a dark grease residue you might find on an older Enfield on the bedding interior, as well as a non brass but plate. Lastly, the barrel is off by two numbers sequentially from the bolt and receiver. Not much to go off of, but I'd like to think it's got a story. ![]() |
