New guy here. Last year a gunsmith friend of mine stumbled upon a horde of Enfields and other older surplus rifles (a couple Ross straight pull for instance) that had been kept in a barn here in TN and had the chicken poop on them to prove it!!Cry

We have "restored" about 12 of them. They range from the very early SMLE with the cartridge cut off to a real #5 Carbine. Please note that our "restorations" are strictly to make them shootable and protected again. All of them so far have been painted after stripping down to action/barrel, cleaned, stocks have had most of the bad dings steamed to raise them and they turned out pretty well. We are NOT passing these off as orignals or anything else

There was several #4s. My 1942 No4 Mk1* Longbranch, a Savage, a very nice but unruly Ishapore No4Mk1  and a Mk1 1/2 that I forget where it was made......

My friend has about 2000 rounds of ammo he wants to shoot up. Believe it or not some of it is as old as 1897 and most is 1907 with a bit from 1917. We have a few duds and a couple hangfires (no more than a second or a bit more time wise). Is kind of weird shooting 110 year old!!

Would be happy to post a few pictures of my old sweetheart if you'd like.

Here are a few. The rifle shoots the 100 year old ammo into 1.25 to 1.5 inches at 50 yards.......I have not shot peeps before so I am working up to 100. I did repeadly hit bowling pins at 100 and our gong (12" square) @ 255 yards

Thats an awesome find mate!

I am sure there is a stash of lithgows in a farm shed somewhere here in 'strayla as well that i would love to get my hands on.
But the winters coming,

And the snow will cover tracks,

And I'll be watching,

Because I'm hunting you

Welcome to the Forum. I got one of those Candian Girls a 1941 No4Mk1 (No Bloody *) and I am dearly in love with her. The are nice rifles. She and my P-14 are arguing about who I am going to shoot in the next Match.Wink
