This is my M96/38, build at the CG factory 1902. It is all matching and was fitted with a k98 side mount and a late 1940s Pecar Berlin 4x scope with German #1 moving reticle.
The reticle needed to be fixed, so I opened it up to see what makes these tic.
Pretty simple really, I just took pics at disassembly so I could put back correctly.
The cross hair was broke, so I fixed it with a strand of my daughters hair and crazy glue, worked great.
Took a bit of work to get the scope lined up with the barrel, having windage adjustment on the mount helped.
While at the range I became aware that the reticle movements are opposite do to the way the lenses are stacked, up is down and R is L  Confused, wasted a bit of time and rounds figuring that out.
Once sighted in, it held zero, and also held after a few scope removals.
Cool ole set up, though not a 96 its still a cool faux sniper, and like all 6.5x55, this old girl is a tack driver
