Looks like the Conservatives have pulled slightly ahead of the Liberal's in popularity since the election. Major reason? Canadians feel Trudeau is making us look like weak, stupid snowflakes on the world stage... No kidding...

If they had chosen Maxine Bernier as leader they would be even further ahead. Attacking Trudeau on his personality or his looks pisses a lot of people off. Most are just not that shallow.
A lot of people are worried that the Liberals are willing to hyphenate laws and the justice system to divide the population. White, male heterosexuals are not a part of their voter's profile. The last budget was about buying the woman's vote. I think that will backfire as I believe most Canadians believe in equality of opportunity and status. The PM's disastrous India trip was a wake-up to many. I am particularly concerned over the apparent influence that Sikhs with continuing connects to the violence in India have with the Liberal Party. I had a very minor role in the search and recovery mission for the Air India 182 wreckage. In preparing a presentation on the same I was privy to a summary of the medical examiner's report on the bodies recovered from the ocean and wreck. It makes me sick that people who call this country home, enjoy its fruits and freedoms can celebrate the architect of that mass murder of innocents Talwinder Singh Parmar. It is even more disturbing that the new leader of the NDP will not condemn this veneration. Neither will the Liberals. In the meantime they want statues of Sir John A MacDonald removed because of his alleged bias against indigenous Canadians. Halifax has already caved in to the whining about General Cornwallis. |

Macd, everything you said is true. I also think "Mad Max" Bernier would have been a strong leader. Trudeau has lived such a privileged life, he cannot see reality. I read somewhere that he's trying to take all the western world's mistakes of the past and make them right in just four years... In Canada. Unfortunately, he forgets about all the western world's contributions in making these county's a better place. Luckily, he can't help himself. He'll keep "stepping on the rake" and sooner or later Canadians will realize what the rest of the world, especially US, China, India already know. He was and never will be capable of leading a country.

no dog in this fight except as it interweaves with us , yet i agree with above about attacks etc on the topics of "looks" and such , i like to keep mine to substance of the beliefs and actual actions in policy , even some of the BS about misstatements or in our case "tweets" which i believe he uses to keep the press on the edge - they cannot help themselves ,
feelings have no place in the discussions when it comes down to policy and citizens rights , i could care less how bad your feelings are hurt , but ill stand by you/all to protect our rights

Well A Sq: we're talking about a kid that (somehow) got elected King. His only qualification was being a part-time teacher & snowboard instructor.
His father - Pierre Trudeau tried to disband the Canadian military(For real!) When he found out he couldn't do that - he starved it to death. Trudeau II is trying (& so far succeeding) in finishing what his old man started...the final demise of this country! ![]() |

Trudeau makes Obama look good by comparison, and that is a very low bar.

so we both are fighting the communist takeover ? it would seem folks might get the point with how well its worked out all over the world - if it were not fpor china and that area it would have died long ago ,
sorry , im not into your politics as much as i should be - ill try to rectify that but with only the BBC as a news source im sure im getting a less than fair accounting , i do not trust any of the major media sources anymore , they all have agendas and none hae "REAL JOURNALISTS" on staff anymore , no research , no verification , no honest impartiality , thats why we have "FAKE NEWS"

A Sq -your absolutely spot on! There is no more unbiased journalism anymore.
They all have their view & political agenda to support. No longer can "The People" be given the facts, & decide for themselves. The media knows whats good for us. |

hoadie my friend , that is exactly what i fear , so many of our youth will not , choose not to , think for themselves . they know not in their hearts the deep seated truth we all feel and understand ,
yes , often we ignore it as it might be an irritating reminder of a nagging mum , yes we might ignore it because it is a roadblock to that bright object we hope to achieve , and yes often we ignore it because it means we need to give up the instant gratifications we want , BUT WE KNOW IT IN OUR HEARTS ...it does not go away and will haunt us at death if we are normal humans , in my mind , and i realize its old and no longer worthy of the youngs appreciation , JOURNALISTS would speak the truth , seek the truth and always be true to the truth no matter how much BS gets in the way , i was a nixon fan ,voted for him , believed in him , respected him when he stepped down , i was also a fan of the reporters that exposed him , because i believed they actually researched the core of it and reported it honestly - in hindsight i admit im not so certain of this , but i will stand on it for today , woodward and bernstein were the last of the "investigative" reporters in my mind , today false news gets equal or more time than real news and the 'news' is no longer a report its an agenda , i no longer believe the "news" as reported , that from one that grew up with the 6 o'clock news as a mainstay in my youth , all three main stream media ABC , CBS , NBC were our info to the world in the late 50s early 60s , it was only when they started to cover jane fonda and such in the late 60s viet nam era coverage that i started to question them , when i went to college first as a teaching major - right at kent state era , turned me off , i realised what the commies were doing , later as a journalist major , i got the real picture then , i found out the instructors were commies too , that is when i understood and resisted , when i changed to architecture i realised there was no escaping politics [so i chose to build as a contractor instead] but i could choose and decide for myself , i could create and not get bogged down in it all , little did i know that we would have to deal with the politics of global population growth , global warming , global cooling [yes both have been pushed in my lifetime] , globalisation and the new here ethnical recognition of only those that are ethnically not from here[to the exclusion of all other ethnicities ] , funny how those that built something up get ignored when its being torn down , have i said too much ? i realize im ranting , off my soap box for now
