Years ago there were often various individual parts around for P-07 bayonet scabbards for the No. 1 rifle. Metal tips, formed leather body, metal top with springs inside. Even some of the odd, "staples," used to put them together. I just turned up a, "set," in my housecleaning. Long ago I thought about making it into a usable scabbard this way. What always stopped me was >how the devil did they ever get the staples crimped into place once they are pressed through?????.< Anyone ever do this? If they have, I'd sure like to know how they solved this. Thoughts???? Thanks, Dennis

totally a guess from looking at mine but I bet they had a steel preform they fit inside and machine pressed the staples.  the steel form would spread the ends of the staples.
