he!!o again!
I'm sorry for the delay, but finally got round to taking some of decent pics of my new (to me) 1944 No4 Longbranch.

I've been waiting for it all to turn up ( treated my self to bayonet, sling and oil tube to go with it) Let me know what you guys think! And thanks again for those that helped my out a while back in choosing my No4.
Ironically enough, the one I turned down is still for sale, so definitely the right decision made!

Since I posted here last time, I've gotten to know the dealer very well and there is a great story (as with all of these beautiful rifles) with this particular batch of No4's and because of their provenance I may have "invested" in another one....Wink But unfortunately delivery delays are getting silly at the moment so I guess I've just got to be patient...

Anyway here's the one I have now:

I believe its the original 5 groove barrel from 1944 which I thought was quite rare

I know its not the "proper" was of determining bore dia and wear but still gives a rough indication:

Looks like it's in really nice condition.
Are the ranges open yet in the UK? When will you get to test it?
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice!

Looks to be in very good condition for not having gone thru an FTR.  Perhaps did not see wartime service, not on front lines anyway.  I’m not sure about LB making 5 groove barrels in 1944, perhaps other members may know.

Does the bore look bright, sharp rifling right back to the throat?

Bet it’s a good shooter, congrats.
