I came across this at a local store.  Any good reference links out there?  They are asking $300USD.  Opinions?
Thanks again

Well here is my opinion. That pistol has been severely sanded and polished. Any original surface has been removed. Most screw slots are so bunged up they are almost un-usable. At $300 US it seems overpriced IMHO. Much better condition examples are around, to me it would be worth passing on this pistol for a better one.

appears to be too far gone to be worth much , i cant read the markings on the right above the trigger but the mkIs were made starting in the late 20s , should be a date there , cant tell which grip scales its wearing

I would call that a gunsmith special and it would be an alright project to pick up at 1/3 the asking price.

i was thinking under 100 as a project myself , but im not looking for a project of that type these days ,

based on the 1939 date it would have worn mkII reeded walnut scales with thumbrest and marking disc[1938-1942] but 'could' have the second of the mkI versions of the first two as well

27-34 checkered walnut type mkI without thumbrest , type A
35-38 reeded walnut mkI without thumbrest  , type B
38-42 reeded walnut mkII with thumbrest and marking disc , type C
42 only reeded walnut with thumbrest no disc , type D
by 41 they were making the mkI* ,
42-45 mk III bakelite thumbrest and marking disc , type E

webley originally submitted the new mkIV design in july of 1921 to the war office , with a sample submitted jan of 1922 , it was a scaled down version of the WS no1 mkVI revolver with modifications , tentative approval aug 1922 with the small arms school directed to arrange mfgr of two samples of new "Pistol , revolver , Enfield .380" Experimental" without Webley Scott being aware ,
development of the revolver , the cartridge and the grip scales through 1927 , the webley mkIV revolver had issues with the desired 200 grain bullet , they filed a claim for the hi-jacked design but were denied awarding them only 2100 pounds - concluding the long running relationship of the government with WS in 1928
tool room sample #3 is dated 1927 and revolver No2 mkI serial number 1 is dated 1929 ,

there is a good reference book out there ;

380 ENFIELD
No2 REVOLVER
