For those in the US, Powder Valley has Varget in a 8.8 lb (4 Kg) jug for $410.  I’m getting close to opening my last 8 lb jug, so bought two.   These must be for the European market being a 4 Kg jug, not seen that before here.

Despite all the different powders I’ve tried, not found anything better in the Lee Enfield .303 and 7.62.

Geoff, my understanding is that the EU & UK banned Varget due to the chemical mix.
A number of other US propellants are also verboten over here. IMI 4895 comes to mind.

It's hard to beat a 174 gr. SMK over 40 grains of Varget.  I stocked up on the 1 lb. jugs when the 8 pounders weren't available and still have 8 left but I'm not shooting as much these days so I'm hoping that'll last me a couple of years.

That’s news to me! Varget is not a US propellant, it is made in Australia by ADI.

Apologies, being a none user of Varget I had forgotten its origins.

The UK seems to have taken on board a number of EU initiatives, rules & regulations even though we have left the EU which is why we find ourselves bound by some clearly ridiculous restrictions...don't get me started on housing and benefits for people arriving in small boats!

IMI or IMR 4895?

I just read that Powder Valley, where I just purchased the two jugs of Varget from, lost their main warehouse in a fair last weekend.  They lost nearly all of their inventory.

No idea yet on what the cause was.
