I was sorting out my chargers the other day and the list I found had "P" listed as the manufacturer stamp for both Perry & Co and C.H.Pugh Ltd.  Now sorting out i found both serif and sans-serif "P" markings, and was hoping that someone here knew which belonged to which company.

Of course they could all be variations from the same factory as well, but either way I would be interested in knowing.

I don't have permissions to use so I won't copy it;  but here is a link to a .pdf database on charger manufacturers.  It doesn't make a distinction to which font would be one or the other.  If you could find someone with a MkIII that would be Perry & Co., so you could at least assume they used the same font for all Mks, as Pugh marked that series "P.U."

I found one "P" in my assemblage.

Note that Perry made pen nibs, but Charles H. Pugh, LTD made a lot of things (originally bicycles) like military wire-cutters.  Their 1940 issue pair had a sans-serif font.  Circumstantial evidence, to be sure.

Thanks!  That's the list I've been working from.  It only shows Pugh as using the P on MkII and MkIV chargers, and both of these are MkII*, but the list is also incomplete as not all letter codes have a manufacturer or model of charger listed.  Finding any PU charger to compare fonts would be ideal.

That said, the list also only shows Perry as making MkIV* like yours and not Pugh, so until I find a PU charger to compare i am going to tentatively assume sans-serif is Perry and serif is Pugh.
