I loaded some Speer 180 grain RN bullets today and tested them, I shot a 1.25 inch group at 75 yds.
The fore end of the wood with the metal end cap was pushing up on the barrel quite hard, I relieved the pressure and free floated the barrel.
The 180 Speer shot better than the 150 Hornady, I have a few days of deer season left, this will be the load I use.

There is supposed to be a mild (5~7Lbs) at the tip bearing.
The good news being you can always add an oiled cardboard shim if needed.Thumbs Up
Of course if its working for you don't mess with it.Thumbs Up

303carbine, please tell us about your load, as inquiring minds need to know. LOL

I used 47 grains of H4350 under the 180 grain Speer, this is one grain below the max on the Hodgdon reloading site, use with caution as usual.
