The more I look at this, the more I like it. I have a no1 mkIII* receiver coming in. Maybe I will do this to it. Hmm...

Where did you get the one-piece upper hand guard? Also, is the extra barrel band the same as a standard band?

Thanks, Scott

It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice!

150gr sp spire, 15rds of odds and sods shot. Home made Tin Hat, using SR reduced for 100yrds, sooo much easier to sight on.
The shot at aprox 8:00 just off the target was the first shot after rough bore site at 100yrs.
The other two also on the backer and the one at 11:00 on the target, were sight adjustment shots, trying to figure out the dials Embarrassed.
After that the next 6 at 6:00 low were walking them in with fine adjustments, the last five are all in the 9/10 ring, then I ran out of bullets.
Overall, I think it shoots fine considering the ammo used was left over home rollies with either IMR 4064 or 3031, All I know for sure is the bullet, 150 gr Hornady  flat base, spire soft point game getters.
Love the Central Sight, compared to No1 Mk3 battle sights, using sights like this is a no brainer!
Cheers

I got it from prestigious wood stocks can`t remember what it was now, and the forward barrel band is the same, though, the swivel mounts on the nose cap need major surgery to make it fit proper, along with the wood in letting for the band needs to be just right or the band won`t fit snug.
It is required as the other band is not enough to secure the upper wood properly.
I`ve see other rifles done this way without the front band, and it`s not correct, or I guess one could use a spring barrel keeper like on the rear upper hand guard for the No1 Mk3. But all the Bisley converted rifles I`ve seen are double banded.

Cool project and definitely a keeper.
Cheers

Very cool project, Thanks.

I think my biggest problem in creating one of these or something similar to it would be finding a peep sight for it. I have seen a couple pass through ebay, but at $350+ I am not a buyer.

I lucked out with this one, had been looking for a couple yrs now, found this at a gun show, $150, the vendor didn`t know what it was, just wanted it gone. Couldn`t pass it up.
You gotta go to the shows, there`s always a bargain, but most stuff is way over priced.

The hand guard is a NoI MkVI trials rifle.
