Scrolling through eBay tonight and I could not believe what I was looking at. There is a No4Mk1 bolt assembly from a Savage that is currently listed at $510.00. The next item I looked at was a King Screw for a T rifle with a buy it now price of $300.00. No4 magazines are averaging $200.00 currently and there is an original No32Mk1 scope with mount listed for the buy it now price of $4500.00. What in the absolute F#%k is going on with the prices skyrocketing for an Enfield rifle and its parts? What used to be an enjoyable experience for me in the buying selling and trading of anything Enfield related has become fouled and skewed in a way that no longer holds its appeal to me. I currently have an assortment of Enfield parts and a couple of blade bayonets complete with scabbard and frog for the No4 along with some No4 furniture that will need some TLC that I no longer want or need. PM me for the particulars and then make me an honest offer and we can go from there. I have a No7MkIL bayonet with the swiveling pommel complete with scabbard and frog as well... Post Script: Here are some of the particulars...

whiskey tango foxtrot indeed
I here ya Gossic, My buying and collecting days are over, prices here are stupid as well. Just saw an unscoped sniper No4 go north of $8000 Cnd, C No 7`s with transit are north 3grand. I can only hazard a guess what the prices of bolt guns will be after we can`t have semi`s anymore. I`ve heard rumors they`ll be heading to the moon.

I am seriously considering putting Project Long Branch on Gunbroker with a buy it now price of $1595.00 because it is in every sense of the word, "A One Off" rifle. Every part has been matched to the rifle and it has a 6-24x50 Vortex Viper scope with an updated Picatinny scope rail on it along with the Herter's stockset and, not to mention a M47/C stamped 5 groove barrel...

Personally I'd keep one of each of "the moving parts & springs" for emergency spares the way things are going & sell the rest. I never thought I'd own not just one but several $1,000.oo guns but guess whut? The Mummies are both uphill from a Grand, Not that the scoped one will ever be up for sale. So is the Lithy SMLE when you add the Central sight & Gehmann eyepiece. The '14 BSA SMLE can't be far behind with the AGP No9 nowadays. The FAL is uphill from there too, before I even add the Hensoldt Ferro ZF-24, & The OlDelft starlight scope (fully working) as sight options.

It looks like you guys across the pond are starting to catch up, price wise! Although it seems like a steadier market here in Europe. I'm happy with what I own; I've accepted the fact that I will never get an original No4T or L42. What I really need is more time to shoot the ones I have. Although I do still want a WW2 Colt.45 1911 pistol!

Zed. I have a Springfield Armory 1911A1 with Wilson Combat components including the barrel. I would trade it in a heartbeat for a Remington Rand made 1911. The irony is when I was 17 I bought a Remington Rand 1911 for 50 bucks from a pawn shop and a month later traded it for a Ruger Blackhawk in 45LC.

My local hunting fishing shop Has a Remington 1911 sitting in their safe where it will now remain until it desolves I guess. Can`t buy sell or trade hand guns here anymore. Maybe they can export them out of the country, not sure how that works as everything is still up in the air. Will C21 become law or won`t it? Either way shop owners are stuck with a lot of inventory they can`t move, registered to the store remains at the store, if store goes out of business, the hand guns would be confiscated and destroyed. Sad really.

Gun control is "low hanging fruit" and a "hot topic" for both the left and the right. Both sides know there will always be firearms... they just use their stance on the issue to garner votes.

britrifles. Biden is planning on drafting and initiating an "Executive Order" to ban ALL Assault Rifle Purchases for a minimum of 10 years and that includes ANY and ALL semiautomatic rifle from a Rimfire to a Centerfire as a direct result of that shooting at that Gay and Lesbian Bar awhile back...

I had to sober-up to make this observation... Tru-dopeII's confiscation / outlaw bill (C-21) probobly wont fly, or be enforceable. Oh sure..he may enact it into "law", but who is going to dis-arm our indigenous population? If they actually try, I would like to tag along as an observer. It just may work-out that the indigenous rise up & save our collective bacon yet once again!! This will probobly go over like a fart in a spacesuit...cuz I remember wot they said when the all purpose idiot was only focused on the AR-15: "Come & get 'em". During the Oka "crisis" they called the Army in. They soon found out that the Indigeonus were better armed than the Army was. They had @ least 2 .50 cal w/Armour Piercing on the barricades. Woulda went right thru those personel carriers. So don't be in a hurry to give em up yet!!

Pollivier has already said he will repeal all new Liberal gun laws if elected. I suspect if Alberta's new sovereignty act passes other provinces will follow... Canada just needs to wake up and remove this current "Woke", weak and corrupt government. But as I mentioned a while back, I choose to ignore politics.😁

In 1992-98, all those crazy new gun laws never got repealed, all we got was your POL converted back to a PAL, big whoop. That time around they eliminated quite a few firearms from circulation. Same thing will happen with this.
I honestly don`t think the conservatives will do Jack Shyte, or Justin Fu@ktard would have been ousted long ago. Most Conservatives MP`s are closet anti gunners and are playing the smoke and mirrors games to ensure they get voted in. Times are different this time around.

It will drive sales & trades underground. Taking a risk bringing a semi-auto rifle to a range to shoot. But, I doubt it’s possible to get them out of the hands of citizens who currently own one.

There is a cord wrapped No4Mk1 with a Grenade Launcher for sale right now with a $3999.00 USD price tag on it as well as a No4Mk1 action body that has the rear sight ears cutoff and advertised as a T rifle action body with a $750.00 USD tag on it. That action body has three very distinct screw holes in it that a PH A-29 scope base was attached to at some point in time. The chunk of steel is worth maybe $50.00 bucks IMO and not the advertised $750.00 dollars. Two years ago I bought a POS No4Mk1 that was missing the bolt and the magazine. Paid $84.15 for it after sales tax was applied. Refurbished it and sold it back to the gun shop for $350.00. It is on the main shelf when you walk in the door currently with a $1199.00 USD sale tag on it. I have decided to put both Project Long Branch and the Faux L8A5T up for sale on Gunbroker for $5500.00 for the lot and that is going to include over 2000 rounds of ammunition, the sniper slings and the telescopes and tripod. No sense in in standing around with a thumb up my butt watching everyone else making bank rolls...

I don’t see my rifle purchases as “investments” that will make money for me some day. I buy them to shoot and enjoy. Although I paid $600 for each of the last two No. 4 rifles a few years back, I won’t sell them even if someone offered me twice that, they are good shooters and in good condition, I’d have to go find another one to replace it!
Yes, some day, when I can no longer shoot, I’ll have to start passing them on to the next caretaker.

Preface: In regards to my earlier comment. Once the rifles are sold, I will not be looking to make any other purchases and my buying and selling days will have come to an end.
I have three rifles that will go to my daughters when I finally take that Dirt Nap. The Faux PH Supreme No4, a Marlin 39A and my Weatherby Vanguard in .243W. They will also have to decide who gets the Reb Model 1851 Colt and my Springfield Armory 1911A1. Those items were never even considered, "Investment Items." Everything else I currently own, they do not care what happens to and as such will eventually go to other caretakers in exchange for a monetary value. The Faux L8A5T and Project Long Branch were built from various bits and pieces and spec'd out accordingly and unlike the Fake PH and Weatherby, hold no Sentimental Value to me. Yes, I like to shoot my rifles but, I am particular as to what rifles those are. The remaining rifles sit in a closet and collect dust. Why not let someone else enjoy them as I did after I built them?...

britrifles. My issue I am having on whether to sell these rifles comes down to what they are actually worth because I do not see them as anything special. Two old military rifles that have been,"Sporterized/Bubba'd" with one getting a different caliber upgrade and that is about it. To me, they are still your everyday, run of the mill, one of 17 million plus rifles that were built to defend a country. Example: Any No4Mk1* made, in any condition, including just a barreled action currently is worth no more than $200.00 to me in my minds eye. The monetary value I mentioned originally was all in jest because to me, those rifles are worth maybe a little more than the $200.00 i just mentioned. They will more likely than not, continue to collect dust in my closet because I honestly think they are not worth anything to anyone...

No doubt, you build beautiful rifles Goosic. I’m sure someone will appreciate them for what they are, very nice clean examples that are in excellent condition.
Can you return one to a Faux No. 4 Mk I (T)? It would need to be in full military configuration, with the replica No. 32 scope and mount. I think that would fetch a premium, certainly something I would be interested in, and as a bonus, we know how good it shoots!

Knives with ever decreasing lengths are registerable in the UK too. Many years back I had an original (more or less) Roman Gladius. I say more or less because I excavated a good condition brass or bronze hilt, but the Iron blade was just rust. We found a stash during an excavation & I was given it as a memento.
My friend who was a blacksmith & Farrier plus an ancient weapons aficionado, built me as exact as could be made blade for it. We had a good relationship with the City Museum & they allowed us to examine & document an original they had to copy from.
Then came " registration of a knife with a blade in excess of 6"! Yeah by about 14"
After considerable debate & regarding "grandfathering of pre-existing finds" they decreed the now complete Gladius had a 2,000 year old hilt & a modern blade. They averaged the two dates & called it 1,000 years old & so an Antique (over 100 years old) & pre-dating the law.

I believe that asking prices for Enfield rifles and parts, like all firearms since the ‘pandemic’ mass hysteria have been astronomical and the sky is the limit. I question how often they sell for those inflated prices. In the recent past I have had Enfield parts that I wished to find a good home for as a lot for a nominal fee or free which took some time to donate. I will have some mags, extractors, bolt and other parts to again find a good home for as a lot and will list again for trade or free and will gauge interest … Many have helped me with constructive advice and parts, and being part of a community that helps others is part of the fun for me -
The power of ‘constitutional sheriffs’ does make a lot of sense as the highest empowered local authority, but sheriffs are not actually mentioned anywhere specifically in the constitution or the 25th amendment pertaining to a president being removed or declared unfit for office. I would never personally advocate the violent transfer of power and can only imagine, with the U.S. present justice department where even the discussion of such might end up.
Even though both Canada and the U.S. mutually invaded and burned each others capitals, I am a big fan of our neighbor to the North’s hunting, fishing, wilderness exploration and waterways. I share with many Canadians a disbelief in their gun laws. Having lived, worked and enjoyed for extended periods in all of its provinces I was not surprised by the statistic that from 2000 to 2020;
‘Moose killed more Canadians than licensed gun owners’

Much of what we pay for parts and firearms is due to the popularity of the website. More traffic tends to generate higher prices. I found an absolute gem of a website; Texas Hibid which hosts links to all the auctions in Texas. You have to spent a lot of time winnowing through all the estate sales and restaurant closures but I've been the winning bidder on a couple of items so far. My most recent win was an all matching Lithgow No.1 MkIII in excellent shape save for some minor stock damage. My winning bid? $400.
