Hey guys Alpine Trucker here again. Does anybody know of a guide/book explaining markings on Enfields? Im trying to do some research online but I've hit a wall on a few markings on my 1920 Lithgow and can't seem to find anything on the web.  Thanks in advance

there are markings data in many of the common reference books we all use by scennerton and such , but i found a lot of additional data on the net over the years , when i get it all compiled it will be a good 1 1/2" binder - the sad part of that is i compiled it over 20+ years of net activity , a lot of the sources are no longer available ,

if i can ever figure out how to add a sricky and load them here i would - they were alll gotten by free access from net posts so im sure there are no legal ramifications , but im not real tech savy even after all these years ,

if you post what your looking for a lot of us have sources to give you what you need if its available - post the questions , we will try to help ,

Spend the money ($90 on amazon) and buy Ian Skennerton's The Lee-Enfield

It will answer questions you didn't know you had.

The Broad Arrow II can be had for $60.

If you don't want to spend any $$, take a bunch of pictures and post them.  But you should buy the books anyway.

If you start a thread & point Hoadie, or Me to it We can do it for you easily though.
You'll still have full access & permissions it just won't "just slide down the hill "if you dont update it constantly!Clap

Skennerton's, The Broad Arrow is the book to buy for Enfield markings.
I have the first edition but the second edition has (I'm told) quite a bit more in.

i agree , but please know there were a lot of sources even some not fully published out there , i always felt the published authors did a marvelous job of getting a compilation of everything they could access and confirm out t0o us collectors , but ...

there are a lot of folks that continued to research and compile data , i think we have a couple among us - may not yet have published or some that had their own websites with research into just this data we all seek out , would be great to get it all in one source but i doubt that will happen ....least not in my lifetime , thats why i say i have a lot of stuff accumulated over a very long time ,

i go back to skenertons original enfield site and i know i have data dating back that far in my files if i can just get it dug out , markings on enfields was one of the first things that attracted ne to this area of collecting - that and my fathers mkIII that i still have , that carried forward to the bayonets i got into finding one for that rifle , there is so much to know and so many places one has to look to find it , the adventure of it all - nothing can be taken for granted ...or assumed as fact ,

enjoy the research and discovery
