As a young boy watching men shoot on the local range if they didn't have their kit in a leather bag they used an old .303 ammunition box, I used one years ago and have now come full circle to using the same thing again. 

Divided into two layers I have every thing I need quickly on the top shelf.

2 ammunition boxes enough for 70 rounds (more in the car if I need them) pistol cleaning rod with .45 Phosphor bronze brush for extracting the odd split case (I wont touch S&B brass but PPU & HXP  can split over time) 2 screw drivers small stubby one for the King Screw and the other for sling bands etc. 

The pill box holds front sight elements and the plastic film container holds my ear defenders when I'm wearing a hat. Shooting glasses and shooting mitt.

I can at a push fit another 50 round MTM box in if I have two calibres with me. 

Missing from the picture is a piece of towelling I put over the breech when it's drizzling or looks like it's about to rain. 

The bottom layer contains stuff I don't often use and if I'm honest I usually take it to help others out if they run into a problem. 

L to R:

brass drift, "toffee" hammer (those of us who can remember Christmas's in the 1950's after sweet rationing finished will remember the little hammer used to break the toffee up, my older brothers always ended up with the hammer) .303 & .308 broken case extractors (I'm not a fan! see the pistol rod above) extractor spring tool and No.4 front sight screw driver. And lastly one odd go gauge seems to have ended up in there as well.

Mini screwdrivers carried since the day one of the arms of my shooting glasses fell off when I took them out of the tin. A complete stranger went to his car and came back with a similar set to these and saved my day! 

The two plastic oil bottles carry spare extractors for my No.4 & SMLE , bore viewer (do I really need this with me?) more standard screwdrivers and a torque screwdriver for one of my sights which seems to have ended up with this odd fitting to it. 

No.4 foresight adjuster. I only have this with me to help others, the example being a young lad whose rifle was shooting way off to the left and managed to get him in the black, the toffee hammer and brass drift does exactly the same.

The middle shelf simply supported with with wood mouldings glued into each corner of the box. 

I sometimes have two or three rifles too to carry.  If I’m shooting at 600, or on paper targets, I also have to bring the spotting scope and stand.  Here’s my standard gear list:

A friend who shoots at Camp Perry bought one back, in fact it's the only one I have ever seen in the UK.

I only did half a job with my post, I also use a trolley (designed for carp fishermen!) which also has my shooting mat and an A4 weather writer that has my plot sheets on it. This is then accompanied with hydration flasks and if I can a folding chair I'll take that depending on the type of days shooting.

I only need a scope & stand for competitions when we have markers in the butts, otherwise we use one of the electronic scoring systems. 

My range bag is actually 2.

As I'm an RSO & frequently the only member of the club there I'm overloaded with "stuff" as I like to be "the nice R/O that got me back to shooting after I forgot/broke my . . . . ", rather than "The Range Nazi."

One is a plastic heavy-duty toolbox, which is stuff I take to help others out. The other is actually a modified ALICE pack on a frame.

In various places in there is a comprehensive toolkit,

a comprehensive cleaning kit,

a magnifying lupe,

Sight pushers for a couple of different models,

a brass/nylon headed hammer,

a 6" metal ruler,

a set of punches,Brass & steel,

a "poink, poink" Valvespout oil can with oil, (Courtesy of a member here, thanks)

a hand towel,

a roll of duct tape,

a couple of ,medium~small sandbags (for working on someones pretty finished rifle on a poured concrete shooting bench),

a laser bore-sighter,

a roll of black, & a roll of white pasters,

a stapler & staples,

a bore guide,

"AA", "AAA" & 9v "Radio Batteries",

a penlight,

a small pocket-sized notepad, & pen,

several disposable foam earplugs, a pair of the "in ear Valve-sonic type" plugs & a set of electronic muffs.

8.5X 44 binoculars,

a 26 & 50 X 90mm telescope & stix for it,

Last but not least a chronograph, with printer & all its "stuff".

If I'm setting up a non range shooting venue I have a GPS, a rangefinder & a compass.

I always have a Leatherman Wave with its extra bits & a flashlight no matter where i'm going.

Yes, it’s a Creedmoor cart.  Holds two rifles nicely, plus you can strap a rifle case to the back and carry a third rifle on the cart.  The cart easily folds down just by flipping up the locking bar.  The top section can also easily be removed, but I leave it all attached.  Comes with a cover and a metal tray that clamps to the top of the side rail for holding your ammo, scoresheets, gear etc. when shooting in the standing position. 

The spotting scope stand and my shooting coat is also made by Creedmoor.  I really like it.  

Huh, no mention of 1st aid kits, you guys must be bullet proof or indifferent to the possibility of mishaps. Myself I`m not worried about what I might do, but rather the clown down the line.

Plus the kits at my club are pretty basic.... quick clot is a must if yours clubs kits don`t include it, be kind.

I also carry basic tools to remedy separated/stuck cases, clearing rod for squib rounds, a screw driver set or most recently a high quality multi-tool(Gerber). Along with the basics, ammo, ear defenders, shooting wrap-arounds, gloves when its cold and my resting bitch face..l

This will all fit in my hard case rifle case so I only need to make one trip from my car. Rifle case in one hand, ammo in the other.

A very valid point! 

Mine is usually kept in the car if parked directly behind the firing point, although I have it with me if I'm RO'ing a shoot. (not often these days) 

When I shoot my AI which I keep in a drag bag there are always a couple of first field dressing in there along with the clubs first aid kit on the firing point.

The vast majority of injuries I've seen on the ranges happen in the butts, splinters, target frame mishaps, groin/strain injuries due to the age of the Victorian target frames and dare I say scolding from hot drinks flasks!  

We occasionally will get a new shooter who does not yet instinctively follow the rules, but they learn quickly!  

Quite frankly, I feel much safer on the firing line than I do in downtown Atlanta (or any other major US city for that matter). 

Oh, I have one, but its not a part of the range bag, (its too big)!

So I didn't mention it.

It lives in the car as I never walk the 37 miles to the range!

I wish ours had such a thing. We do have a self service kitchen though.
