Stopped into my local 2nd Amendment store over the weekend and found this little beauty. The shop owner was asking $20.00 for it with scabbard and frog. Got it home and cleaned the grease out of it and then gave it a thorough bath in a mild detergent.
I found the inspection marks and in the process of examination found that it appears to have never been issued or used. The bell/mouth of the scabbard as well as the rest of the scabbard appears to be untouched and possibly actually a mate to the bayonet. I did try to fix it to my rifle and it fits very tight.
I believe that this is now the bayonet that truly belongs with Frenchie, considering that she was purchased from the same store makes this a bit ironic...
