i dont often , from another site - we discussed that - one person responded to it saying they seldom recall moments after introductions
this was my responce to his post ................

me too , ive had difficulty with names all my life - as i get to know you i will remember but if its a once and done , donbt count on me remembering - ill recall your face but not the name , its been a detriment to me all my life , but then ive never been a person that trys to impress with who i know even tho ive known a lot of influential people [it no longer matters so ill say it] i had dinner with both the general of the army and the surgeon general of the army at their brothers wedding - i was his room mate at college , having said that they were not that yet as they were serving in VN at the time and their father was a colonel in Stuttgart Germany then , we had a pleasant dinner and i liked them a lot , but it was the only time i ever spent with them ,

life has a way of dealing out moments , sometimes we see them sometimes we just experience them , my wife and i experienced this one without realizing what might happen in the future ,

I have always been awful with names. It takes several interactions with someone before I can remember their name. I don't know why but it has always been an issue for me. Like you said, Mike, I can remember a face and know I have met them but will not remember their name if I only met them once or twice.

I've always had a poor memory for names. Oddly though, I never forget a face.

If you have problems remembering things do this.

Think about your favorite color.

Think about your favorite attribute you like in women.

Once you cleared your mind your mind will work better.

If not you will be still smiling.

My Father told me this. Maybe that why I am the sixth of ten children.

I am useless at remembering names. It can be embarrassing sometimes, especially when all of our clients know my name. It's probably because I am always thinking about stuff, that I don't concentrate on the introduction.
I doubt that it can get better with age!

It doesn’t Shaun, I’m the same way.  The only thing you can do is try and repeat the persons name several times.  It’s occasionally worked for me.

It’s not just names for me, my memory is terrible!

Val,Mrs Chaz, & I both have this odd quirk (not) remembering names.
If we meet people with a dog we think of them a "Fluffy's People", but can never remember their names.

I have this same issue, I put it down to age, but I have always been poor at remembering names.

But I have recently found a trick that works much of the time - when introduced to someone and I'm told their name, I repeat it in a sentence straight away. Just some platitude like "Welcome to the range, Barry."
Since I have tried it, I have become a bit better at the remembering names thing.
