Still trying to figure out the manufacture of my No. 1 mk III.  All your help in my previous post identified the bolt as being a Lithgow, and now i've found a mark the side of the trigger, the small letters IS and this appears on the inside of the safety lever as well as the number 288.  Sure wish Globe hadn't polished every possible mark off this rifle when they sported it.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks guys.

I'm probably wrong but I would say the IS is inspected & the 288 would be the inspectors #. I know that it's normally a L over the Broad Arrow & a number underneath for a lithgow .
