Only one way to find out Yuma.

I guess you're talking about a SMLE? Don't know that I've ever seen or heard of anyone trying that. However, belted rounds have long been chambered into the P-14/M1917 rifles.

If you are talking about the SMLE, what cartridge and for what purpose?

I have heard that the extended floorplate/mag box developed by Rigby to adapt Mauser actions to the rimmed .303 was also used to adapt these actions to belted magnum cases.

This is all just theoretical and an overactive imagination, but I was thinking about something like the 458x2" American ( belted 45-70 )or a 416x2" ......possibly even with the rim turned off ??
