Oh well, the gun laws in Greece are really lax, in fact I dont think they have gun laws there. A bloke I knew went there and reckons gun shops are like lolly shops over there.

Hey Roo-better let me know soon about Ice fishin..we are limited to 20 max..& we got 16 confirmed.
We are looking @ 1st weekend in Feb(If moon is right).We leave Thur afternoon-drive into the night,fish Fri & Sat.Head home Sunday. (Sat is all U can eat fish fry (Pickeral) @ main barn-included) You'll be able to leave your wheels here,& ride in one of the convoy vehicles. Dont wanna sound like I'm pushin..just that the logistics have to be worked out as well(food,rides,whos sleeping in which house,etc) Hoadie ------------- Loose wimmen tightened here |

I am in berlin! It's pretty rad, love it here. I went out last night with a pair of mad northern Ontarian blokes I met in Prague the other week and were out till something like four. They are habs fans as well so we totes got on. I provided great information to them about the dangers of australia, like spiders, snakes, dunny budgies and drop bears. Last time we were at the GP camp-out in Arkansas,there was a get together round the campfire & beer was involved, a lot of beer. Being a bunch of guys in the woods we just designated a tree as the "used beer department". The next day Mrs BK brought Thor, our Golden retriever down to visit, so of course he had to visit every tree in the National Forest. You should have seen the look on his face when he sniffed the "designated spot!" HAPPY-HAPPY-HAPPY!! Just got word from Lisa(Rhino's wife) that they are comin HERE! They're takin the train right to St.Catharines!(400 meters from my houise!) They're comin in August..Man!Are we chuffed!!  Planning has already commenced!(Bin an exceptionally bad year for black flies up @ cabin this year-so nobody bin goin up..but we're headin up Friday..& EVERY weekend now.)We gotta get the place ship-shape fer the visit.(Black flies will have a feast on us! OOHH!Its almost time!! Lisa & Rhino will be here in 48 hrs...got LOTS planned for 'em. Monday is tour & wine tasting at one of our 257 wineries(my kid works there). Jet boat ride up the Niagara River(they gonna get SOAKED! ) Tour Ft.George(that's THE ONE THEY NAMED AFTER ME!) & a trip to Queenston Hieghts battlefield(where we gave the Yanks a WHOOPIN in 1812). May even stop to see Lundy's Lane Battlefield(we BOTH took a whoopin there!But WE held the field & yanks left...so I guess we won that one) Bloodiest battle of the war.Trip along the canal..dinner alongside at Frado's(Ed Hill likes that place) They expanded the patio, Ed! Couple trips to the Legion, let 'em roam around Pt.Dalhousie & Lakeside Park(yes-the one RUSH sings about). Sooner or later we'll head up north to the cabin..do some Enfield shootin, take a little trip on the "MOJO" on Salmon Trout Lake..I DO believe that copious amounts of patent libation will be consumed as well.(Got some "SPECIAL" ones for Rhino to try.. Ft. George was a hoot. I loved the tale of firing the cannon with a cork fishing float as a wad so thy get a bigger BOOM! when firing blanks. The day we were there there was a sailboat out on the lake & it came in close to see the canon fire. I took my black powder artillery training acroos the river @ Ft.Niagara. At the end of the course we LIVE FIRE out into the mouth of the river. We used 12 lb Napoleon, 3 inch, & parrott rifle. What a hoot! Theres a cannon @ Ft.Niagara that they used to fire daily @ Ft.George.Its called the "hot-shot".Heated up cannonball fired from it would get even hotter as it flew toward Ft.George. Ft.Geo was made out of timber, so the idea was to start fires & maybe get the magazine going. They used to stand ready with water & sand buckets to put out the fires. (note: When Gen Brock was killed @ Queenston Hieghts, Ft.Niagara held a artillery salute in his honour & flew THEIR flags @ half staff.Thats how well respected he was both by his American foes / colleagues & his own men) Hoadie ------------- Loose wimmen tightened here |

Its teaching reenactors the loading & firing the BIG black powder muzzle-loading boomers. There's quite a ballet to it as guys run back & forth & the thing rolls back 15~20 feet when firing so you have to be in the right place at the right time.  ------------- Don't shoot till you see the whites of their thighs. That's right Shamu! Years ago, they'd get just anyone to crew a gun.(Those were the guys that were usually missing fingers,hands & arms!) So they got smart, & started doing the "School for the soldier-Artillery" for re-enactors. It REALLY made it a lot safer, & actually more authentic. Everyone has a place in the crew, & a specific function. When you figure that a tube & carriage weigh in excess of 3,500 lbs., & you see 'em roll back like that..WITHOUT a projectile..you really get a sense of just how much power is there. I was always getting asked to crew, that's why I took the training, otherwise I would've just stayed with my "School for the soldier-Infantry"(Theres different levels of that, as well). Oohh, what sharp little eyes you've got Gramma! The pic of the 12 pounder was taken on an exhibition day at the local shooting club. They went from matchlocks all the way up through modern full-auto weapons. We even had a flamethrower demo, done by the guy that ran the flamethrower in the movie "Windtalkers" The "German army" were running a demo of Wermacht fire team tactics & just left everything set up ln the field.  Incidentally this is all live fire, not a blank, including the Napoleon. The were shooting cannister shot into out berm. What a mess! that stuff really tears up a berm. Look at the grass in front of the muzzle under the smoke. You can see the blast tearing hunks of turf out of the ground. Now That's a muzzle flash! Here's the flamethrower, the exact same one used in the movie. He doesn't gel the 115 octane avgas for the demo, so there's a lot more fire in a lot smaller space, but it saves the FD a headache afterwards putting out burning trees!  ------------- Don't shoot till you see the whites of their thighs. Well, Rhino (& more importantly - his wife LISA) are here in the Great White North. They were so eager to get here..even their plane was early! Well, the time is drawing nigh, again! Soon I'll be in the "Land of the Rhino" once more. We shall be @ Enfield Rifles.com(south) for the festivities on 4 April. (We're actually DRIVING this time!) reminds me of the road trips we'd take to Fla. when we was young! Good times, many laughs & stories. As usual-REALLY lookin forward to this trip. All done! Leave Monday a.m. (31st) & drive to Nashville. On the 1st we'll head over to check out Jack Daniel's(I took tour many moons ago-but Joe hasn't). We got tickets & great seats for the Grand Ole Opry that nite. After the show, drive 2 hours to Jackson, Tenn. Next day its off to Lake Providence La.(Gotta meet & finalize some things @ Panola Pepper) Then its due south to Rhino's.(Recon we'll pull in bout 8 p.m. Next day, its back up to Opellousas to pick up our oeders at Slap Ya mama & Tony Chachere's(& take in a few sights)This way, we'll be out of the way whilst the final wedding plans are being made. Then it's back to Rhino's & let the festivities begin! Wedding on Friday..& we get to hang around till Monday morning. Next summer - the Rhino clan will be up in the Great White North. OOOOOHH!  Well-we're back & recovering from the extravaganza that is the RHINO WEDDING celebrations.To say it was a blast would be an understatement! [<:o)] Rhino's daughter got married..& that's one less mouth to feed. It was a well done party I must say! As for the libations...well, it flowed quite well.I've never been to a wedding whereby all the booze was placed @ the bar & everyone is "self-serve!" There was a cop hovering around ME all night! Sherriff's deputy Sgt. She said something about Canadians being in the crowd, & the antics they are famous for - so to save time, they were there! Sure put a damper on MY plans! It didn't stop Carol from getting her shoulder broken, & usn doing our fighting level best to dispose of the leftover booze! Even Lootent Dan was impressed! Another fine Rhino party!Even the critters got gussied up in ribbons & bows! (We had to wait to blow things up, tho. but we got 'er done!Hoadie ------------- Loose wimmen tightened here |

Like Joe says..crawfish are tasty..but WAAAYYY too much work. As for the oysters, I got some @ Don's. With the colder than usual weather, even the oyster beds are hurting..so as its said..they weren't missed. We had a blast! Hoadie ------------- Loose wimmen tightened here |

Well, she was black, a Sgt., bout 5'10", some heft to her (but in all that gear..it makes her bigger)...& she WANTED me!! I could tell!  Why else would she be hovering round me? She also confided in me that she couldn't hit ANYTHING she would aim at with her Glock.(I was gonna take her out back to help "train" her, but decided agin it. Well, Rhino's place isn't zactly the 'burbs. Driveway about 175 meters long. She was walkin up it - lookin out fer gators, I guess..& down she went. Someone asked where she was after a while. Said I didn't know..figgered she was behind me, maybe stopped to pet a Gator. Bout that time she showed up. Said she couldn't move her arm & she was a hurtin. We sat her down, & went outside to the gun shop. X rays (bac k @ home) reveal a clean break in the humerous(she don't think its so humerous), below the shoulder socket & above the plates in her lower arm(holding it together). Well, we even talked bout her comin to Canada as law enforcement. When I told her a 1st year constable in Niagara gets $75,000 + benefits her eyes got big. Told her her uniforms & dry cleaning are paid & 2 new suits per year..she was all for it...till she heard what kind of cold we get by times.(Shoulda kept my mouth shut!) "Aint NO amount of money makin me move there!" Ah well..maybe if I hadda told her I was "Hoadie the Great". Maybe that woulda swayed her. Then again...I don't wanna go thru all that crap again.
