Well, looks like I may be heading out for Elk with my girlfriends father next time he's in town...which would be my first time actually "hunting". Any words from the wise to depart to us less fortunate in location and experience?

Well Matt - I don't exactly know where you are - but I'd be using 180 grn bullet.150 WILL MOST CERTAINLY DO THE JOB..but Elk is just that much bigger..use 180.I'm sure the learned ones will agree.
(Try fer the neck, lad!less spoilage!)
