My No4 has a Parker Hale BA 21 scope fittings and I'd like to have a scope rail. I don't want any drilling, just bolt straight on. Any suggestions?

There is only one I've heard of.  I'll see if I can find info on it and post it.  Some guys over on the other site I frequent have used them and report good results.  It fits in place of the rear sight on the No4.

Hi Flanker,

The S&K mount works well on my No5.  There are some pics at the end of this thread:

The S&K is a good scope mount, but I have been using my newly purchased Addley scope mount with good success. I use it on a #4/Mk1 for target shooting and it holds zero, is light (aluminum high strength) and looks rugged because it is. 2 screws hold it on the rifle using the ejector screw and rear sight mounting as anchor points. The beauty of this mount is that it also tightens up the action during firing without the twist that can send a bullet to the left. There are 2 versions, the original mount and the 2nd version that incorporates a rail on the side of the mount for whatever you want to use it for, i.e. red dot or flashlight, etc. At $99 plus shipping its' the bee's knees!

S&K makes a good one, but ATI has one that has more  slots in it for scope eye relief.

That is one thing that is a little bothering, the Addley scope mount lacks a few extra notches forward for that extra eye relief which many times is necessary, especially if your military issued butt stock is a 'short'or'normal' length, and not the 'long' piece. I would think though that the Addley mount would work just fine for eye relief using an aftermarket sporter stock set.

I have a S+K rail now, it's good. The only problem is that I can get a zero that is less than 3 inches high at 100m. It's not a major problem, it seems to be 1.5 inch high at 150 so may be spot on at 200 (haven't checked it yet). That's OK for deer stalking
