OK I am a new Enfield #4 mark 1 owner. I love the weapon BUT it came with a Williams peep sight and of course no user manual for the sight. Does anyone know what the different elavition settings are for the sight. I currently have it dialed in lowest setting which I'm assuming is 100 yds. Not sure though. Go easy on me yes I'm young with alot to learn but I'll listen to the input. On separate note I am thinking of putting weapon into Monte Carlo ATI sniper stock/package thru combat hunting. Its supposed to be drop in so I can change back to original wood stock at later date. I'm wanting to make the Enfield my primary coyote slayer without making permanent changes to the classic weapon. All input welcome.

that said most frown on sporting an unsported rifle , but most appreciate an already done one that was well done to start with

Well I am glad its a friendly bunch. As far as frowning upon sporting an Enfield I can understand the sentiment. The weapon deserves respect its a classic. I'm not wanting to make any permanent changes. Just want to add a scope and butt pad. Either than that I'm prolly going to leave it stock.

If it has a Williams rear sight, then something has already been done to change it from stock. The markings on the sight are, as best I can tell, just reference marks. You'll have to figure out on your own what they mean on your rifle. My best advice woulf be to set it to the center and start shooting. Shoot at a BIG target, your first rounds may be far off from center.
Please post a pic of your rifle so I can see if I'm close on my assesment of your rifle.

And Welcome to the forum!

Yup the Williams sight marks are no specific distance. Its just a question of "up 4 clicks 6 clicks right".
