I tried out the Hornady SP which has a spitzer type bullet (i.e. pointed tip). My rifle really liked them, but they seem to be a little hard to find. Are there any other competing manufacturers that make a spitzer type cartridge? I have a feeding problem with rounder type bullet heads.

Check widners and graf and sons a couple times a week they usually carry the hornady and sierra 150gr sp

my rifle really likes the Remington UMC 174 grn. which is a mil spec type cartidge, privi is good too not as pointy.

Sierra makes 150 & 180 grains spritzers. Midway got a small amount of the later last week they only had one box left when I got to there site. Speer makes a 150 Grain spritzer.

For manufacturers:

Prvi Partizan (PPU)- they make 174 grain fmj, 180 grain boat tail pointed soft points, and 150 grain pointed soft points.

Federal- 150grain pointed soft points.

Remington- 174 grain fmj and 150 grain core-lok (PSP)

Grad & sons custom ammunition

Herters

PMC

Wolf gold (repackaged PPU)

There are probably some more I don't know about.

Sellier Bellot 180 grain and Sierra Matchkings 174 grain.

Best to get that feeding problem sorted out. Is it the mag to chamber, or when closing the bolt?

Maybe time to start reloading. Besides being fun, it is a lot cheaper and you can "customize" the round to fit your rifle.

Do you guys get PMP (Pretoria Metal pressings - Denel) over there?

Dairy Farmer, you are right. I need to get the feeding problems resolved. I'm pretty sure the issue is where the round enters the chamber.

DairyFarmer, we used to be able to get PMP here but it stopped being imported. I don't remember what the deal was but the importation stopped for some reason. I do actually still have a box of it. It is good ammo, or was at that time anyway.

Most of my components are PMP because they are a lot cheaper than imported stuff and the quality is good. The guys that make it, Denel, are big into military munitions and I think commercial stuff is limited.

Somchem powder is now mostly owned by Rheinmetall Waffe Munition AG (2008) and traded as Rheinmetall Denel Munition.
