I have both, got the 303 first and think its bolt action is smoother than the 308. Or maybe the spring on the 308 is stiffer. I dunno. Would it be me imagining things? How to test it out? Can I swap bolts between them and cycle them to see if the "stiffness" follows bolt?

Just to resurrect this old thread, my criteria was to load a few snap caps on both and work the bolt. There were a bit differences, but unloading the 7.62 felt specially harder than the .303. From what I understand, the case is held between the extractor and the left side of the receiver until reaching the ejector. On the 7.62 it feels it drags harder than the .303. Unloaded, they feel about the same.
