Just to give you all an idea as to how inept this clown that was (supposedly) elected Prime Minister is...the fire in Alberta is far from out. It is now 5 times the size of New York City. It has now forced the re-evacuation of the Ft. McMurray area - for crews that were trying to restore utility services (hydro / gas etc). It has now entered the oil fields, & yesterday - they had to be evacuated (along with a couple more communities). Yesterday 1,600 on-site worker's residences at the oil fields were destroyed.
This idiot was offered help from 6 different countries. He turned it down. This fire would have been out & done..instead it roars merrily along..burning up forestry, ruining wildlife, & ruining lives. The oil fields & their infrastructure now falling prey, as well. The air in the arear is so bad..environment Canada says out of a score of 1 -10, its a 13. That means it's hazardous to inhale it because of the toxins.
..& this idiot is King??!! (but he has a hot wife & nice hair)

Trudeau truly is not fit to govern, and I'm being much too kind with that statement! I predict he will be ousted before his full term in office comes to expire. Hoadie, I feel your frustration as do most Canadians I am sure. He is giving away free money in the billions to countries yet is ignoring the big problems at home that that money would certainly help with.

Even if his advisors said the assistance wouldn't make a difference, you think he would have taken it just to give the impression they were trying everything. The DC 10's will drop 12,000 gallons of water/retardant in a pass and cover a 300foot wide by one mile long strip. I think the Russian planes have even more capacity.

yes! The Russian Il- 76 dumps 42 tons per load...they offered up a few of 'em. Watched a news clip t'other day. Guy was interviewed. Said he's 5th generation Canadian...& a refugee in his own country. Tru-dope brings in thousands of immigrants - gives 'em $, clothing, & homes..."I'm living in a gymnasium. They gave me a debit card with $1,200 on it to buy lodging & food. There is no lodging to be had..& where am I to buy the food?
..The the kicker."Because of special circumstances, we are extending unemployment benfits to the people of Ft.Mac" Well - what a hero!! & just WHERE are they going to send those cheques to? YA GOTTA HAVE A RESIDENCE TO GET A U.I. CHEQUE!! ..That - & the fact that U.I. doesn't pay enuf to buy groceries, let alone help with the lodgings. (THIS CLOWN HAS TO GO!!)

How about this: South Africa sends 300 fire-fighters to help in Canada. They get paid their normal salary by the SA Government. Canadian Government is paying all their accommodation and meals. They get an extra daily allowance for going over there that is double the SA minimum wage. They get a bonus when they returned to SA. They also had to sign a contract before leaving SA to this effect. Now that is not good enough for them. They want all this AND they want to get paid the same hourly rates as Canadian fire-fighters get. So they go on strike once they arrive in Canada. What a huge embarrassment to SA citizens (not the SA government as they do far more embarrassing things without batting an eye lid). The fire-fighters come from a SA government-funded, job-creation programme to get young unemployed people into the job market and get skills. They should be grateful that they even have jobs, let alone being paid to get international experience. Sorry Canadian brothers, we ordinary SA citizens apologise for the bunch of socialist idiots we sent over there to "help". Feel free to boot them out. I don't think the loss of 300 striking fire-fighters will have any effect on the efforts there. I understand that the minimum wage in Alberta is more than they are getting paid, but its substantially more than they would get paid over here. Also I doubt that they will be paying income tax to Alberta. Also my understanding is that this is not ordinary employment, rather volunteer work.

I just read an item on it..They went on strike because they were only being paid $15.00 Cdn. Well, everyone else involved seems to make more than that. So - after all the fan-fare of the S.Africans coming to help(news reels, press releases etc) it would appear - to me anyway - that Canada is the one that has egg on their face! Seems to me , they refused help from other countries in favour of obtaining help - in a potentially life threatening job - at "SLAVE WAGES."

What a mess! how long has this fire been burning now? to be honest I don't watch much TV and tend to miss the international news because it coincides with my 5 year old's bed time. But I've not seen anything about this! Am I on another planet?

I have seen nothing in our media about the devastation caused by the fires in Canada. It is sad. Made even sadder by your Tru-dope. Just like obummer. No capitalization on purpose.

No I disagree. When you take the exchange rate into account it seems like it. But you have to take scale of economy into account. They are earning 6.2 times our minimum wage and 1.3 time the national average wage. Or what our president gets paid per day. The average wage in SA is C$1400 per month. A loaf of bread that costs C$2.70 in Canada, costs C$1.00 in South Africa. That brings the C$1400 to the level of C$3750 which is about C$500 more than the Canadian average wage. Put into context it's not such a bad deal that they signed up for.

Update: Management went over to Canada and have decided to return the 300 striking fire-fighters to SA. The deal that they were offered to go to Canada was their normal wage plus 300%. Once they got there they demanded their regular wage plus C$250 per day. Is this what Canadian fire fighters get? Its about double what I get paid to run a dairy farm turning 7million litres a year and managing 40 staff.

By "scale of economy" it would appear to me to be wrong. We have labour laws in this country - & every province. If they had paid the minimum wage for Alberta - which is law - they would be paid $11.20 Cdn per hour..plus they get fed & housed.
Seems to me theres blame @ both ends here. (So why did Tru - dope not accept help from the other countries when they offered? Methinks theres a rat afoot)

Well put, Hoads!!I remember some years ago when there were fires in Ontario; News reader girl said very seriously, that the good news was that there are now only 112 fires burning, instead of 115 or whatever...............But this was because some of them had joined up!!!!!!!!!! I nearly died laughing! Sounded like "Air-Farce " or something! I guess if the fire had got big enough to join them All up, we would have had the "good news" that there was now only One burning!. ! Sheesh!

..& now this "boy - king" has allowed the national anthem's words to be changed. He's wasseling on military purchases.(This at a time when the world has noticed the Russians are gearing up for war.)
He's turned his back on veterans (after being so critical of the way the Conservatives were beginning to fix that problem)
..& he's allowing a crippling debt to be accrued, while the economy goes in the toilet.(No investors will invest in Canada as long as this irresponsible crap goes on...ergo - no economic growth)
Oi..but he has nice hair & a hot wife

Our Governor General should seriously look into removing the boy-blunder from office, he's systematically ruining our beloved country. Now, he has committed 2 BILLION $$$ for Mumbai, India and their housing crisis. What about Vancouver's housing crisis and the homeless situation?

I'm with you on that one, Canuck. They should never have altered the words to the National Anthem without a referendum. That way it's what the people want., not some twerp that listens to every minority lobby group and puts them before the rest of us. In fact I think that all important decisions should be by referendum. They weren't elected to be "In Power" but to implement the wishes of the constituents. They forget that.

Having a majority government they feel they can run rough shod over all rules and traditions. A nation wide revolt may be the only way to change things. What a legacy his father has left for we Canadians to have to endure...thanks Pierre. Thanks for nuthin'

Don't ferget..Trudeau - the elder - tried to disband our military, completely! (Started to re-think that when he needed them during the FLQ show).
As for housing - I got a e-mail from my half - sister on the left coast yesterday.(Dunno what the other half is..) After being in the Van area since the late 60's, she's lookin at movin back here..can't afford to live there anymore.
Trudeau's old man started the destruction of this country..& his offspring will finish it!
