| I mentioned I switched a DAI Mgt scope mount for an Addley Precision on my faux Sniper No4 Mk2. I have no affiliation with Addley, just like their product. I've sent Shamu three pictures of some of my Enfields with this mount to post. Thanks Shamu! |

Yes they are great scope mounts! I ordered one a few years ago, a GEN1 model and it is still on the rifle. Best darned mount I know of. ------------- Castles made of sand slip into the sea.....eventually |

| I'm gonna make some assumptions from your question, Goosic. In my mind, they would be too high for a butt stock without some form of cheek rest. All those rifles have medium Weaver Grand Slam rings. Two have Leupold Freedom 1.5x4 scopes, the cammoed one an old Weaver 4x I had kicking around. My eye lines up excellent, but of course with the cheek piece. None needed shimming and lots of scope adjustment up/down. Hope this answers your question. Oh ya. All those rifles shoot under 2" @ 100 yds using Sierra ProHunter 180's. Two of them have shot 1.5" @100 yds. |

No assumptions necessary. That's what I was trying to ask. From the firing pin to the centerline of the scope. They all look very nice on those rifles. The camo one with the Weaver looked a little higher sitting then the other two. I can actually see,(no pun intended there,) a tactical advantage there especially when using it for hunting. Quicker sight acquisition without having to drop your head down and rest your cheek firmly on the cheek riser. Very nice groupings you described there as well...

Something a lot of folks forget when talking scope height with a L-E is the bolt handle. I've actually found that bashing my thumb knuckle into the eyepiece bell is the true limit to "How low can you go" on a L-E! ------------- Don't shoot till you see the whites of their thighs. | If you notice, you have to remove the rear ladder site. One of the attachment points. They include a peep site calibrated to 300 yds that installs between the rear site ears that you could use under the scope. Never tried it, but nice backup. |

| Goosic. The bottom of all three scope tubes are exactly the same measurement from the rail. Might be all the junk hanging of the Leupolds that makes them look lower. Or the angle of the pics. Like I said to Shamu. My wife took the pictures in my Man Cave. I think she was so excited to finally be invited in after 38 years of marriage she was nervous! |
