There was a slight problem with approving new posts for new members, the last couple of days. I think we have it figured out. I'm sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused any of the new members.

Veteran members, please look back at the last few days of posts to see if we can give these new members a hand.

Thanks,
Eric

Oh thank goodness!  I was lucky enough to join up during this little 'bug'.  When I logged on today and noticed my post was still 'Pending Approval', I was not impressed...

Thank you so much for fixing this, and clarifying that this was not a normal thing.

We usually require approval of the first 10 posts of a new member... We have had a lot of problems with spamming. Once you reach 10, the restrictions are lifted. It's nothing against new members, it's just the only way we can combat spammers.

I just signed up to the sight, and had to use my work address instead of my personal g-mail account. Would there be any specific reason for that. As I'd rather not use the work e-mail for forums etc.
Thanks, Zed.

It could be that your gmail spam settings are set to not allow our site. This is the first I'm hearing about an issue with gmail.

I'll look into it.

I just checked and realized that we had to disallow gmail email accounts, a while back, because of major spamming issues. I re-enabled it, so let's see how it goes.

Eric, thanks! I have swapped over to my gmail account now which is better for me because my work e-mail  is visible to nosey colleagues.
Regards, Zed.
