I've done a little more research on trying to get a repo sniper scope and mount in Canada. Apparently (and by know means is this the gospel) even if I had Numrich ship to a place just across the border (US side) according to the rules Shamu mentioned, if Homeland Security checked my at the border and found it, even if I had declared it, I would be in deep Doo doo. Classified as a military scope. Does this ring true to Canadian forum members? Apparently, years ago Canada signed off on this under Alan Rock and Axeworthy.

What would the issue be if, you had someone in the states here buy it,"after you had sent them the monies," and then ship it to you from the United States Postal Service?

I just thought of this. Go on eBay. In the search box put,Enfield Sniper. Scroll down until you see the scope and mount. Find the one being shipped from China. It's made by RSM and it does what it's supposed to do. This way you don't have to deal with the bureaucratic bs...

Brilliant minds think alike! I just got off eBay before coming on to this site! I saw the one from China. Do you think the quality would be there?

I actually have one. Just for back up purposes in case I do something to the one on the rifle now. I think the RSM reproduction scopes are spot on.
It doesn't come with the scope can. You will have to go to Numrich Gun Parts to get the adjustment tool though. That I know they'll ship to Canada...

Again, thanks for the info. Trying to gather all the Intel I can on this project. I found a web site on installation, and it does sound somewhat daunting! One thing I've learned over the years is I never overestimate my abilities. Saves on boxes of wrecked parts!

I'm kind of torn. Lee Enfield Resto's in Saskatoon got back to me. I supply the RSM scope (which they have lots of experience with) they install, tune to H and H specs for $275. I don't want to cop out on this project, but it seems like a reasonable price considering my abilities. Thoughts?

HT: Homeland security doesn't check you on the way out of the States.
You get the once over by Canada Customs. They don't seem to care much about it. (Heres a tip: Canada Customs agents @ the border do not seem to be well versed in most of the firearm laws. Everytime I pull up & produce firearm related papers they always ask: Whats that? I say its the documents for the ammo I have Usually-right then & there its "Good Bye") Remember-you are allowed to bring in 5,000 rnds of small arms ammo, per trip

Thanks Hoadie. That sounds very similar to my experiences coming back from the States.
