Yes I agree, the only draw back is the settings on this one is not very fine, 1/2 " per increment at 100yrd. but its a rock solid scope, the glass is very bright and clear which is tough to get in old scopes.

It is tough to find in old scopes. Lucky you found a good one.

Going to the range today to shoot this rifle some more. Got 80 RP 180grn sp rounds from a friend last week. More of a test for the inertial recoil pad I installed. Should be interesting. I`ll report the results.

Not terrible, I`ve been shooting 150grn reloads, so trying these 180grn SP store bought Remingtons was a treat. Little heavier push, but that was it. The inertial recoil butt plate works beautifully, I could shoot it all day. I didnt adjust the scope for these but shot POA. The first shot at 1:00 was aiming dead center. The next 5 where shot at 6:00 center. the resulting group is 2.25"x1" maximun spread, well within the 10 ring of an SR target. The shots in order as spied through my spotting glasses are 3:00 then top to bottom, holding the same POA as closely as possible, so stringing a bit, probably just me. All 6 shots shot inside of 3-4 minutes. I had this rifle scoped a few yrs ago with a smith-less mount and the rocket nozzle flash hider. Average group at 100yrds was around 4" IIRC. So my conclusion with this rifle is the factory rocket nozzle may very well have affected group size. The frigg`n thing is loud, louder than it was, ear plugs and noise cancelling muffs are a must. If the shot dosn`t kill the deer, the noise will.... ![]() ![]() |
