Here is a collection of my attempts at restoring(a little custom work as well) rifles I acquired that were all in very rough-ish shape, most of these were under $300
First up from top to btm, 1902 CG 1902, was converted to a sniper then to a CG63 in 1967, since the receiver was already d/t`d, I took artistic license to fixed it up, next is a CG96/38 1915 same thing, it`s now my faux sniper, and last a 1979 No3 Ruger in .223, this rifle was real rough, poor thing
Next top to btm, No4 mkI* Savage(auction find) with generous help from Goosic it turned out great and shoots very well, next is an ROF Faz Aug `44 No5, got it cheap `cause it was d/t`d, so I turned it into a NZ type bush carbine, hope to get it back to original some day, and last the EFD 1915 mkIII.
Next is a 1926-7ish Browning FN made trombone, with no smith scope mounted Pecar Berlin post xhair scope, this thing is a beauty can hit dimes at 50yrds, again it was really rough. Even found an old vintage shot gun case to truck it around in.

My custom carry case for the CG63 sorry about the upside down My image host kept up loading it this way??

shoot em if you got em

Very well done! Roughish shape is good! Just finished a Savage 99 .243 for a buddy. Roughish! Sanded and oiled the stock, cleaned the action and bore, installed original period sling swivels (drilling wood) and installed a Skinner Peep Site (dovetail was in a mess as previous owner tried to remove it the wrong way!) Removed after market scope mounts (locktited in, heat, etc.) And filled the holes with machine plugs. My cost?... $0.00... hunting buddy... Experience?... Priceless! We definitely don't do this to get rich!

The trombones seem to be more plentiful here in Canada than the States, I could find you one but its a pain getting that stuff across the border.
