I have a question about my sights and also about a scope.  My sights are the flip up type that flip up and are ranged from 200 to 1300 meters.  They have the locking slide instead of the screw.  At the top it says MK3.  Are these the correct sights for a 1944 No4 Mk1?  As for the scope, I play a game online called Call of Duty 2.  On that game the scoped Enfield has the scoped mounted to the left side of the gun.  I know it's only a game but is the location of the scope accurate?

LOL, I have the same game... yes, it's correct. The scope does mount on the left side of the receiver.

Check out these web sites for some good info.

As far as your question about your sight, I don't have my books with me... I'm at work... but I think that sight is fine for your particular rifle.  When I get home later, I'll it up in one of my books.

nah, I bought COD2 about 2 weeks ago.  I can't bring myself to leave COD1.  I have had COD1 for about a year and still love it.

One problem I have with COD2 is that I can't seem to find the option to enable running.  So when I try to get from point a to point b, I keep getting killed.

Do you play it online?

Eric

Cool, the next time I'm home with enough time to play, I'll check it out.

Does anyone know where the "meter" designation caomes from? I have been corrected on this at a shop, but I am looking at the 1991 Canadian National Defense manual for the no.4, and it clearly says the sight is in yards.

One possible answer is that the sights were to be used by European troops perhaps ? when you filp the sights up are they a Peep or standard "V" type sight ?

Dave, I'm referring to the Mk I rear sight, marked from 200 to 1300. I have  referred to that as 1300 yds, and have been corrected a couple of times, with people saying meters. My copy of the Canadian manual says yds. Were the British using meters during WWII?
