"The first cartridge is for the SA80 ~  British 4.85x49mm tracer"
Does this mean they re finally chambering the SA80 in something other than 5.56/.223?

The guts were from an AR 18 IIRC. They were made by Sterling, a British company, best known for the Sterling sub machine gun. I don't know of any U.S. design features?.

You are correct, the AR18/180 bolt and bolt carrier were copied on a single recoil spring was used. I think the bullpup design was left over from the EM2 designs.
