I just bought a Lee Enfield dated 1911 BSA and it came with two magazines. The newer looking one is now stuck and I can’t remove it! There is also an older magazine which Is probably the correct one because I think this newer looking one is not the right one. Any idea how to remove the stuck one? Thanks 🙏🏻

I got it out but both magazines that I got with this rifle seem too tight and don’t slide in properly so I think they are from a later model?

I am near Hamilton Ontario

Well if your "near" Hamilton - why don't you list it? It becomes mighty handy going forward..especially when you want help.

Can you post pics of these magazines?

Who / where did you get the rifle from?

Look down lower in the forum, there are 2 tutorials on how to post here.
One kinda basic & simple, one more complex & versatile.
Keep your size down because the site will reject huge mural sizes!

there are differences in the model magazines.  Sounds like you do have mags that aren’t going to work. Sine it is a 1911 it’s likely a No 1, maybe as well a No 1Mark III.  If you have a No 4 rifle mag, or an aftermarket mag, they won’t fit.

Another possible problem is the mag release...  does it depress all the way?

A view of the wrist showing the stamping from my No 1***, if you look at your tifle in this place, you can identify what you’ve got there.

The bottom view of my No1 mag, for your comparison.

See the small trigger-like lever, next to the actual trigger?  Dies this fully depress to allow the mag to release?  Even if it works satisfactory, that won’t release the mag if it’s not the correct magazine for your rifle.

Another view of a correct mag for your rifle.  for the upside dow photo, turn your tablet around...

Not the correct mag for your rifle.  This is for a No 4 SMLE.

That’s great thank you for all the help! This site is great especially for a newbie like me!

Sorry but just because the mag says "No4" doesn't mean much. EVERY part had its own Mark No.
Because of that a No4 rifle can have a no2 sight with a no3 elevator on it while taking a No5 magazine!
Utterly confusing Eh?

yup, you’re right.  I took it down on my post, so as not to be confusing...  and corrected the note as well.

Whitjr. The following photo shows ten distinctly different versions of magazines intended for the various Enfield rifle.  The second row, specifically the Case No4 on the far right,"yours" is for the No1Mk111 rifles.
The third row, far left is a No4. It is made specifically for the No4Mk1 rifle.

for what its worth , the magazines were hand fitted to the rifles and not intended to be interchangeable or disposable , they were an integral part of each rifle , that said if you get the proper one it can be fitted , it sounds like you have two incorrect items - do not force fit , a correct one will seat but may not function without hand tuning it ,
