So at the weekend; we decided to have a family 10 metre "Sniper" challenge. The idea being to see who is the best cold shot!
1 target each and 1 shot each. No practice and no looking at other peoples targets until we have all had our 1 shot.
We are using the standard 10 metre air rifle targets at the required 10 metres. We did use a rest for the front of the air rifle, to keep it equal.
We are using a Feinwerkbau 300S rifle.

My 9 year old daughter was the winner! But it was close. We all shot left of centre so think it needs a click or two on the windage. Round 2 next weekend!
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice!

dittos that , she deserves to be proud of that shooting , always fun to see the young ones getting involved - in bygone days it was the norm , today it is the exception , but im seeing more and more great young shooters at the range and still seeing them in the SASS shooting venue as well , im always proud to share the stage with these dead eyes and pleased when they beat me on any stage or the event , we need young shooters that know how to handle a firearm well , they are the future

So Zed, how long do you think it will be before she is kicking your butt up and down the range with a .303? Wink

I think it will be a few years before she get's behind a .303; but she's making progress with the .22's. She's keen on the 1918 .22 that I got last year; but needs to get used to the sights. At 10 metres air rifle, she's doing well. May let her do a competition this year if she wants to.
The missus has been known to beat me in .22 competitions as well. If she practised she'd do very well.
Gun club should open this weekend; with restrictions. But at least it's a start.

So this weekend we had round two of the 10 metre challenge.
My wife did not compete this week; but my daughter set the bar very high with her shot.
I just nicked the 10 dot this week; so it's now one win each. But it was close!
No practice before competition.

It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice!

Looks like one hole!  Interesting how the group centers are different, you and your daughter must take up a different sight picture.

It is just one"cold" shot each without any practice beforehand. So first shot of the day.
To be honest the rifle is too big for her; she can't get close enough to the sights.
But she does have good concentration and takes her time.

It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice!
