I have had this rifle sitting in my closet for years now. It was a barreled action when I got it originally.  The rear sight ears were broken and the 2 groove barrel was beyond saving. I cut the top of the reciever off and installed a PH29 scope base. The donor barrel is a Fazakerley 5 groove that was shortened to 22 inches before I purchased it. The bolt is a new reproduction one purchased from Numrich. The ATI stock was Camo Dipped as well.
I do not have clue as to what year it was made. Any help with that would be greatly appreciated. Serial # 1L5880. I am waiting on PH RALS3 scope rings currently. The only scope I have available to use is a BSA Prevo 6-24×44.
Here is where I am at with it so far...

Thank you Honkytonk.
Once I get the scope mounted, I am going to pair the rifle with Speer 180grn RN projectiles. The headspace is right at .070 using a Forester Field gauge.

Good job bringing back what was presented to you, into a functioning rifle.

Update!!
The scope rings arrived this morning and I found my Nikko Stirling  Gold Crown 4-12×40 scope. I swapped stocksets with the faux L8A5T.  The wood looks better on this rifle. The objective here is to have a backup hunting rifle so, I am going to see how well the 180grn Speer Hot Cor RN projectiles fair with this rifle...

I really like the semi-flush mags with sporter stocks, they just sem "right" for each other.

Your rifle & so your choice, but I tried the P-H flush 5 rounder & much prefer the semi-flush 7 rounders from Japan. The "wings" on the floor-plate were something I never got on with.Dead

Shamu.
The last Faux PH 5 rounder i made did not look right sitting in the mag well.
I too like the look of the Santa Fe magazine so I might just forego the fake PH magazine...

Very nice sporter. I like them so much that I was lucky and reacquired the Churhill I sold a couple yrs back. Everyone should have one(a sporter) in their Enfield collection.

The proof on the bolt looks like a browning smokeless proof, lion over V.P used on military rifles up to 1968.
Quality part if so.
