It would be worth looking for the 5 round mag. Or you could make one.

Hi guys,

Thanks for all the kind words!  I’d love to find a correct 5 rounder for it as it would really complete the rebuild.  Sadly I didn’t think to take a before pic, but I can post a pic of the box-o-salvaged-metal! (anybody need a charger bridge?) Wink

Thanks Zed ! pounds , shilling and pence before my generation.
$415 then , well probably a bargain then. better call BSA and order a few. Maybe the parts are still in the back of the warehouse somewhere ?

Actually there was a video on Youtube somewhere of sore urbex (urban explorers) visiting parker hale's abandoned factory some years back, mountains of crates full of parts rotting away. stacks of skeletonised rifles still there.  wonder what happened to it all..........

I'm not sure that the advert prices are in pounds.
I think it's shillings. So divide the price by 20 to get the cost in pounds. If I remember correctly!

me either and back then it was a cost that many thought too much for an "old rifle" , sure glad my dad thought well enough of springfields and enfields to buy them from the barrel in sears back then - i might never have gained all these great friends and collected all those fine rifles over the years , it was something worth doing ,

if you factored in inflation since 1920 then 135 UK pounds it would cost 6120 UK pounds in 2021 ($8311 US dollars).   Not sure I would be rushing to fork out that much these days !!

Nicely done indeed. On that ad if I`m reading it right, the officers models are were quite pricey way back when, 135 pounds, in the 19 teens that would have been around $500, a pretty penny for sure.
shoot em if you got em

I like what you have done with that. Do you have any photos of before the restoration?
