Hi all. Right after Christmas I got a Mk.III* from a local auction. Sadly it's been what I would call loosely sporterized. I haven't measured the barrel, but it doesn't look to be cut down. The stock however is a nightmare. It's been cut down, apparently split when it was put back on, has had the medallion removed and for whatever reason had the sling mounts ripped off.
I would love to get a new stock for it, but after looking around I have no idea what places are reliable or to avoid. I've looked here a few times since getting the rifle and have seen a lot of helpful and knowledgeable replies to questions and the like. Thanks in advance to those who take the time to reply.

Have a look at the DP MkIII's that J&G Sales currently have. If it's only wood stocks and a few non-pressure bearing parts you need, it's hard to beat $99.95 for a parts gun. One caveat, some of the DP rifles they sell are missing handguards so it would be a good idea to call them, tell them what you're looking for and see if they'd send you a complete rifle.

BRP Guns is one I have done a lot of business with. They are pretty cool in that if you place a big order they will sometimes throw in free oilers with your parts. They are just the late plastic ones, but it's still a nice gesture.

What's importation like now? I might have a full set of Indian No1 furniture, I'll check later when I'm in the workshop. Used to be easy to import and export from the UK, but not these days, it would appear.
